In order to vote you will need to create an account and be logged in. This is a security step, so hopefully the ratings won’t be taken over by trolls who aren’t here to use the site for what it’s for.
If you have signed up and still can’t vote, check that you have verified your email. If there are any problems after that, send a message to admin@beforeweknewbetter.com.
Each of the listed areas has 4 options:
🔴 Red Light for when there are major and/or frequent instances of bigotry..
🟡 Amber Light for when there are minor instances.
🟢 Green Light for when there are no instances,
⭐ Gold Star for when the film handles things in a particularly praiseworthy or progressive way.
Always err on the side of caution. If you can’t decide between Green and Amber, vote Amber. If you can’t decide between Amber and Red, vote Red. It’s better for people to go in expecting it to be worse, than to go in and get blindsided.
There is also the option of adding further context. You don’t have to do this, the light system is enough. But if you want, you can add a brief explanation as to why you’ve voted the way you have.
